It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Makai Kenith Neal, a beloved 15-year-old, whose life was taken far too soon. Makai’s body was discovered on February 10, 2025, in a burning vehicle near the 2900 block of North 26th Street in Milwaukee. His identity was confirmed through dental records, and the Milwaukee Police are investigating his death as a homicide.
Makai was a vibrant young man who had so much ahead of him. He had a passion for football and adored his younger sister, Gia. His family describes him as a loving son and brother, a bright spirit with an infectious smile. His loss has left a hole in the hearts of all who knew him. “He will be forever 15 years old,” said a family member, adding that Makai was just beginning to find his path in life. “Our family is devastated.”
A Give a Hand page has been set up by the family to assist with funeral expenses, as they navigate this unimaginable grief. Makai’s life, though cut short, will forever be cherished by those who loved him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community.
