Peter who died following in a shooting on Monday, February 16, 2025, while exiting the Harris Teeter store in the Crozet community. Despite efforts to save him, Peter succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Peter was known for his kindness, generosity, and his deep commitment to those he loved. His loss is a devastating blow to his family, friends, and the entire Crozet community, who will remember him for his vibrant spirit, sense of humor, and the positive impact he had on those around him.
The preliminary investigation has found the shooter, now identified as 28-year-old Justin M. Barbour of Crozet, entered the parking area and fired a rifle at the first victim.
The family asks for privacy as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Details of memorial services will be shared at a later time.
