It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Armando Cruz Lorenzo, age 25, who tragically lost his life on Friday, February 16, 2025, due to injuries sustained in a shooting on Maury Street in Des Moines. Armando was found at the scene and, despite efforts to save him, passed away from his injuries.
Armando was a bright and vibrant young man with a loving heart. Known for his sense of humor, kind spirit, and strong connections to his family and friends, he brought joy to all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He had dreams, aspirations, and a future ahead of him that was sadly cut short.
Armando is survived by his family and close friends who will forever cherish his memory. Though his life was tragically taken, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
The Des Moines Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Armando’s death, but at this time, the loss leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him.
A private memorial service will be held by his family in honor of Armando’s life.
Armando will be dearly missed, and his spirit will remain in the memories of those who were fortunate to know him.
