It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan B. Williams, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Roanoke community. Susan passed away on the morning of February 19, 2025, at the age of 80, in a tragic and untimely incident. She was found deceased at her residence on Yellow Mountain Road, where her life was taken far too soon.
Born and raised in Roanoke, Susan was known for her warm smile, her kindness, and her unwavering love for her family. She lived a full life, filled with love and devotion to those closest to her. In her later years, she was a comforting presence to her family and friends, always quick to lend a hand and offer words of wisdom.
Susan is survived by her children, grandchildren, and many other family members and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She was a woman whose life touched many, and her absence leaves a void in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
The Roanoke Police Department has identified Kurt James Davis, a 34-year-old man with no fixed address, as a suspect in connection to her death. He has been charged with Second-Degree Murder. At this time, there is no indication that Susan and the suspect knew each other.
While her passing has left a deep sorrow in the hearts of those who loved her, Susan’s spirit will continue to shine through the memories she created and the love she shared. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, and the family requests privacy during this difficult time.
