It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Frank Lore, Detective Sergeant at the MTA Police Department, who tragically passed away after committing suicide. Frank was found deceased in Somers, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, courage, and unwavering commitment to his community.
A distinguished member of the MTA Police Department, Frank served with integrity for many years, working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the New York metropolitan area’s public transportation system. His contributions to the department were immeasurable, and his leadership inspired those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Frank’s colleagues remember him as a strong and reliable figure, someone who exemplified the values of justice, duty, and service. He approached every case with an unyielding determination and a sharp sense of justice, always putting the welfare of others first.
Outside of his professional life, Frank was known for his kindness, generosity, and devotion to his family. His warm heart and sharp wit made him a beloved figure among friends, family, and those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Yorktown Funeral Home, located at 945 East Main Street, Yorktown, NY 10588.
A funeral mass will take place on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, located at 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY 10589.
