Dillon Reidenauer, a beloved freshman member of the Louisiana State University (LSU) women’s track and field team, tragically passed away in a traffic incident on Wednesday evening, February 26, 2025, in Baton Rouge. She was 19 years old.
Dillon, a native of Northshore, Louisiana, had recently joined the LSU Tigers as a pole vaulter. Known for her dedication, athleticism, and warm personality, she quickly became a valued member of the LSU athletic community. A proud graduate of Northshore High School, Dillon was recognized for her talent and determination in both her academic and athletic pursuits.
LSU Athletics released a statement expressing deep sorrow at her untimely passing, offering condolences to Dillon’s family, friends, and teammates. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Dillon’s family, friends, and teammates, as well as with those impacted by the loss of another individual who died as a result of the incident,” the statement read. “We are providing resources and support to all of our student-athletes and staff directly impacted by this tragic loss.”
Dillon’s death has left a profound impact on the LSU community, as well as the broader Baton Rouge area. She will be remembered not only for her athletic accomplishments but also for her kind heart and the positivity she brought to all who knew her.
