With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joe Pal, a University of Oklahoma rugby player and National Guard member. Joe, 23, died following a brutal assault near Boyd Street and Classen in Norman, Oklahoma. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Joe succumbed to his injuries just days after the attack.
Joe was a dedicated University of Oklahoma rugby player, known for his athleticism, determination, and leadership on and off the field. He was also a proud member of the National Guard, embodying a spirit of service, commitment, and bravery that touched all who knew him. His death has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, teammates, and the broader community.
Before his passing, Joe was honored with a hero walk, a powerful tribute to the courage and strength he displayed throughout his life. In his final act of generosity and compassion, Joe chose to donate his organs, saving the lives of others and ensuring that his legacy of selflessness would live on.
Joe’s family, teammates, and fellow soldiers remember him as someone who always put others first. Whether on the rugby field, in his military service, or in his personal life, Joe showed unwavering dedication and loyalty to those around him.
