It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic and untimely passing of Brenisha Butcher, a beloved friend, family member, and cherished member of her community. Brenisha, aged 33, was tragically shot and killed in the early hours of Sunday, March 16, 2025, near N. 107th Street and N. Granville Road in Milwaukee’s Granville neighborhood. She was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a lasting void in the lives of all who knew her.
Brenisha was a kind-hearted soul who brought warmth and positivity to every room she entered. Her infectious smile and generous spirit touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
Her family, friends, and the entire community are devastated by this senseless act of violence. In addition to her untimely passing, a 30-year-old victim, who remains in stable condition, was also injured during the incident. Milwaukee police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragedy and searching for the individuals responsible.
As the investigation continues, Brenisha’s loved ones remember her for the love she shared and the bright future she had ahead of her. She will forever be remembered for her strength, compassion, and the deep love she had for her family and friends.
A memorial service and celebration of Brenisha’s life will be held at a later date. In the meantime, her family asks for privacy during this difficult time as they grieve their loss.
