It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of one of beloved Carroll High School student, Jessica Jennings. Jessica died following an apparent suicide. Jessica was a cherished member of the school community, and her loss has left an indelible mark on all who knew her. At this time, we know that Jessica’s family is grieving the loss of their daughter, sister, and family member, and our hearts go out to them as they navigate this unimaginable pain.
Jessica’s presence in our school was a light to all, and she will be remembered for her kindness, her infectious smile, and the joy she brought to her classmates, teachers, and friends. In times like these, it is essential that we come together as a community to offer support and comfort to those who are hurting.
To assist in the healing process, the school counselors, along with additional mental health professionals, will be available for students and staff in the coming days. The school will be offering support services to help those who may need assistance in coping with this tragedy. School counselors will provide ongoing support, and we also have access to a mental health counselor through our partnership with Parkview Hospital. Administrators and counselors will be attending each of Jessica’s classes to offer support and create a space for those affected by this loss to share their emotions and begin healing together.
