On the evening of March 20, 2025, Chase was tragically caught in an act of violence. Fort Wayne police responded to a call at 9 p.m. regarding a shooting in the 3000 block of Pennsylvania Street. Three individuals, including Chase, were injured in the incident. Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, Chase was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims, one an adult and the other a teenager, were taken to the hospital for treatment.
