With heavy hearts, we mourn the tragic loss of 12-year-old Noah Gomez, who passed away in a tragic drowning accident on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Lake Roy in Winter Haven, Florida.
Noah was enjoying a day on the lake with his father, younger brother, and cousin when the accident occurred. He had been swimming and fishing with his family when he tragically slipped from his father’s back while attempting to return to their boat. Despite the tireless efforts of Polk County and Winter Haven rescue teams, who worked diligently using boats, drones, underwater sonar, and a helicopter, Noah’s body was recovered from the lake later that afternoon.
Noah was a bright, loving young boy with an adventurous spirit. He brought joy to all those around him with his infectious smile and boundless energy. His family and friends will remember him as a caring son, brother, and cousin, whose short time on this earth left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Noah’s life was tragically cut short, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family and the Winter Haven community. Our deepest condolences go out to his family during this time of unimaginable grief.
