It is with deep sadness that we share the tragic passing of Urban Andrew Seay, 36, who was involved in a fatal incident on March 19, 2025. Urban’s family and friends remember him as a kind and caring individual, who was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. His sudden passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Urban’s life was marked by a struggle with mental health, and on the day of the incident, he reached out for help through a 911 call, making distressing statements that led to officers responding to a situation at the Southwest Precinct. Unfortunately, the events that followed led to his death after a confrontation with law enforcement. Despite the efforts of officers to de-escalate the situation, Urban was tragically struck by gunfire.
In this time of mourning, Urban’s loved ones ask for compassion and respect as they process this unimaginable loss. They are grateful for the support from the community and the first responders who did all they could to assist Urban in his time of need.
Urban is survived by his family and friends, who remember him not for the way he passed, but for the love he shared and the memories he created. He will be deeply missed, and his life will always be cherished.
A memorial service for Urban Andrew Seay will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to organizations supporting mental health and suicide prevention.
