It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the untimely passing of Austin Metcalf, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who tragically lost his life on Wednesday, April 1, 2025, at the age of 16. Austin was fatally injured during a confrontation at the Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas, where a senseless act of violence took his life.

Austin was a compassionate and kind-hearted young man, known for his infectious smile and genuine nature. He was a proud student of Frisco High School, where he excelled both academically and in his extracurricular pursuits. A dedicated athlete, Austin was passionate about track and field and had dreams of furthering his education and sports career. His love for his family, friends, and community was evident in every aspect of his life, and he had a bright future ahead of him.

On the morning of the tragic incident, Austin was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and a confrontation with another student led to his untimely death. Despite efforts by first responders to save him, including CPR and the administration of blood, Austin succumbed to his injuries, leaving those who knew him heartbroken and in disbelief.

Austin’s family, especially his father Jeff Metcalf, is devastated by this senseless loss. “My son was a kind and caring person, and he didn’t deserve this,” said Jeff, his voice filled with grief. Austin’s loss has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family and friends, and his memory will forever be cherished.

Austin is survived by his loving parents, his siblings, and a wide circle of family and friends who will continue to carry his memory with them. He was a bright light in this world, and his life, though tragically cut short, will always be remembered for the love and joy he brought to those around him.

A memorial service to celebrate Austin’s life will be held at a future date, and his family asks for privacy during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship fund in Austin’s name to support young athletes in his community.

Rest in peace, Austin. You are loved beyond words, and you will be deeply missed.
