It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Metzger, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2025, at the age of 66. David, a resident of Louisville, Ohio, tragically succumbed to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, March 29, 2025, in Fairfield Township.
David was a passionate motorcyclist, who enjoyed the freedom and serenity of the open road. He was well known for his kind heart, his generous spirit, and his love for family and friends. A man of great character, David had a lifelong love of adventure and spent much of his life exploring the world around him, always with a smile and a story to tell. His presence was warm and comforting to those who knew him, and his loss leaves a profound void in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend or loved one.
The accident occurred on County Road 86 (Tabor Ridge Road) as David was navigating a curve. Tragically, his motorcycle went left of center, leaving the road and overturning. Despite immediate efforts to treat his critical injuries, including transport to Union Hospital and later to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital, David passed away on Tuesday, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
David is survived by his loving family, including his children, grandchildren, and many dear friends. He was a devoted father and grandfather, always putting family first and leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those closest to him. David’s family and friends will forever hold his memory in their hearts, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be held at a future date.
