Arnold Eugene McCray, a lifelong resident of Tuskegee, Alabama, passed away tragically on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the age of 53, following a single-vehicle accident in rural Macon County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Arnold was driving a 1998 Nissan Altima on Macon County Road 26 when his vehicle struck a fallen tree in the roadway. After the initial impact, the car veered off the road and struck a second tree. Arnold, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred around 7:42 p.m., approximately six miles southeast of Tuskegee.
Arnold was known in his community for his kind demeanor, easygoing nature, and deep roots in Tuskegee. He was a friend to many and a man who lived simply but fully, always willing to lend a hand or share a story. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by family members, friends, and a close-knit community who will remember him for his quiet strength and genuine heart.
