It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Anthony Lance, 74, of Charleston, South Carolina, who tragically lost his life on the morning of Wednesday, April 16, 2025, following an auto-pedestrian accident on Savannah Highway.
Born in 1949, Joseph was a lifelong Charleston resident who touched the lives of many with his kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering sense of community. He passed away at 7:05 a.m. at Roper St. Francis Hospital, shortly after the incident near Skylark Drive, where he was struck while attempting to cross the roadway.
Joseph will be remembered for his warm heart, his dedication to his family, and his enduring connection to the Charleston community. Whether sharing stories on a porch, helping a neighbor, or offering a kind word to a stranger, Joseph made an impression that will not be forgotten.
He is survived by loving family members and friends who will carry his memory forward with grace and love.
