It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donell Jones, a 17-year-old senior at Milwaukee Lutheran High School, who tragically lost his life in a shooting early Sunday morning, April 20, 2025.
Donell was a bright young man with a kind heart, full of potential and promise. Known for his infectious smile, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to his education and peers, Donell touched the lives of many within his school and community. He had dreams of continuing his education after graduation and was excited about the future ahead of him.
The shooting occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday. A second victim, a 20-year-old man, was also injured in the incident and is currently recovering with non-life-threatening injuries.
As of now, police have not made any arrests in connection with the case and continue to search for the suspect or suspects involved. The investigation remains ongoing.
Donell’s sudden and heartbreaking loss leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived by his family, friends, classmates, and teachers who will remember him with love and admiration.
