HENDERSON, NV — A woman is dead and a man is in critical condition after a shooting in Henderson on Wednesday morning, according to police.
Officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 9:59 a.m. in the 1200 block of Imperia Drive, near Eastern Avenue and Grand Hills Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased woman and a man holding a handgun.
Police say they attempted to negotiate with the armed man for about 40 minutes. During that time, officers made repeated efforts to de-escalate the situation. However, the man ultimately shot himself. He was immediately transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved, and the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
