It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Eileen Sanders, 86, of Prague, Oklahoma, who died Wednesday afternoon, April 30, 2025, in a tragic accident during severe flooding in Lincoln County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Eileen was driving west on E 1020 Road near 3515 Road, northeast of Meeker, when her vehicle was swept off the roadway by high floodwaters. Both Eileen and her passenger were able to exit the vehicle, but in the chaos of the rushing water, Eileen went under and did not resurface. Her passenger was rescued by the Prague Fire Department.
Eileen will be remembered for her enduring strength, warmth, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her sudden passing is a profound loss to her family, friends, and the Prague community she called home.
