It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Rod Sisco, WQSB’s beloved Afternoon Drive DJ. Rod’s warm voice, infectious personality, and deep love for radio touched the lives of countless listeners across Sand Mountain and beyond.

Rod’s passion for broadcasting began in high school, where he got his start on weekends at Power 107.5 FM (WAVU). That early spark would ignite a lifelong career in radio, one that found its true home at WQSB. Over the years, Rod became a comforting and familiar presence to thousands, his voice woven into the daily lives of those who tuned in each afternoon.

His greatest loves in life are his children Grant, Asia & Savannah and of course music. Rod enjoys all kinds of music not just country.

More than a broadcaster, Rod was a cornerstone of Sand Mountain Broadcasting. He spent his entire career with the company, earning the admiration of listeners and colleagues alike. To those who worked alongside him, Rod was not just a coworker—he was a cherished friend and member of the family.

Rod Sisco’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who heard him, worked with him, and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
