It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Brandt, age 75, of Unadilla, Nebraska, who died following a tragic car accident on Thursday evening, May 1, 2025.
The crash occurred around 7:39 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 2 and County Road 20 in Otoe County. According to the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office, Barbara was driving her Buick Enclave southbound when her vehicle was struck by a westbound Dodge Caliber while she was crossing Highway 2. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Barbara was a longtime resident of Unadilla, known in the community for her kind spirit, strong faith, and generous heart. She spent her life devoted to her family and friends, and she was an active member of her local church. A loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Barbara was a source of strength and comfort to many.
No passengers were involved in the crash, and both drivers were reported to be wearing seat belts. The driver of the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A memorial service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be announced in the coming days. The family requests privacy as they grieve this unexpected loss and encourages those wishing to honor Barbara to consider a donation to a local charity in her name.
