It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Valentina Lizette Provencio Ortiz, who died on May 3, 2025, following a tragic hit-and-run incident in Glendale, Arizona. She was 29 years old.
Valentina was struck by a vehicle in the early hours of April 27 near 51st and Glendale avenues, as she walked her bicycle along 54th Avenue. She sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, where she fought courageously before succumbing to her injuries several days later.
Born in 1996, Valentina was a vibrant, compassionate, and strong young woman who touched the lives of everyone around her. She had a love for nature, music, and bringing people together. Her presence lit up every room, and she was deeply cherished by her family, friends, and her fiancé, who was with her during her final walk.
Valentina’s life was tragically cut short by a senseless act, and the Glendale Police Department continues to search for the driver responsible.
A memorial service to celebrate Valentina’s life will be announced by her family in the coming days.
